Jurors in the trial for defamation in the defamation trial Johnny Depp and Amber Heard

If Adam Waldman, Depp's former attorney who was dismissed of the trial,

Enjoyed the right to free speech in the event he made false remarks about Heard.

In a crucial decision regarding jury instructions, the judge in charge of the case agreed

They Heard's attorneys on Thursday and said that Waldman did not be eligible for the privilege

Which is an immunity from defamation since his remarks did not refer to any of the things Heard did or said. 

The jury, composed of seven people, must come to a unanimous decision for a verdict.

They will be deciding Depp’s claim and Heard’s counterclaim at the same time.
